The Williamsburg County apprenticeship program has been anything but short of perfection. It has created an excitement in the air as adults and youth get the opportunity to participate as apprentices with its local school district. Programs include automotive technician, plumber, electrician, HVAC technician, carpenter, office administrator, and the flagship program teacher’s aide. Participants have been able to enroll in such programs to earn certification or even a degree. Since the program’s inception, the phones have been ringing off the hook with persons wanting to participate in the program.

Williamsburg County is creating an atmosphere of high-paying professions that bring about pride and self-worth. The school district is most fortunate to have a great opportunity for growth and development and looks forward to using this program to its fullest potential.

The apprenticeship program gives us an opportunity to build capacity in participants for growth in the work place and beyond.

Dr. Kelvin Wymbs, Superintendent, Williamsburg County School District

As the nature of work changes and technological advancements transform the skills people need to succeed, there is a greater need for more high-quality learning options. Apprenticeship programs help recruit and develop a highly skilled workforce that helps grow our local businesses.
